Honey Ginger Glazed Salmon
Sweet, savory and full of flavor, this salmon is marinated with Honey Ginger White Balsamic, soy sauce, fresh ginger, garlic and two flavorful oils, then baked and quickly broiled for a lightly golden finish.
Serves: 6
Marinate: At least 6 hours or overnight
Bake: 350°F
Ingredients
- 2–2½ lbs whole salmon fillet, skin on
- 4 tbsp Honey Ginger White Balsamic
- 4 tbsp regular-strength soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Cilantro & Roasted Onion Infused Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Japanese Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 fresh lemon, juiced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
- ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 seedless jalapeño, chopped, optional
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions
- Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the salmon fillet and remove any excess moisture. Place the salmon in a large glass baking dish and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the Honey Ginger White Balsamic, soy sauce, honey, Cilantro & Roasted Onion Olive Oil, Japanese Toasted Sesame Oil, garlic, fresh ginger, black pepper, green onions, lemon juice, red onion and optional jalapeño.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the salmon, making sure the fillet is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight, if possible.
- Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature while the oven preheats to 350°F, with the rack in the middle position.
- Transfer the salmon to a large piece of aluminum foil on a rimmed baking sheet, skin-side down. Evenly distribute the marinade over the salmon.
- Cover the salmon with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and move the oven rack to the upper position. Uncover the salmon and return it to the oven.
- Broil on high for approximately 5 minutes, watching carefully so it doesn't burn. The top should develop a lightly golden finish.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with steamed jasmine rice and roasted or stir-fried vegetables to soak up the flavorful sauce. It also pairs beautifully with broccoli, snap peas or green beans.
What You'll Taste
A balance of sweet honey and ginger, savory soy and toasted sesame, fresh citrus, garlic and roasted onion, with an optional little kick from jalapeño.
Olivetta Tip
For the most flavor, give this one time to marinate. Overnight is ideal, but six hours will still allow the salmon to absorb plenty of the honey-ginger, sesame and savory flavors.
